Moving? Me too! How to get through it… with a list

Short version: love & embrace a Google doc for your move. You WILL forget command hooks.

Long (& sappy) version:

I think this is the first time I formally introduce the best human in my life… my boyfriend Jeff!!! He is my best friend, my Everlast workout partner, and makes me the happiest girl in the world.

ALL OF THAT BEING SAID, we’re moving in this June! Which means… we have two apartments filled with crap that we now need to throw into one. We’re good at compromising so he’s probably just going to throw most of his stuff to make room for mine.

Jeff is THE planner. If we’re going away for a long weekend, you better believe he will have an itinerary down to the minute, dinners booked months in advance, and somehow, builds in time for thoughtful moments like strolling along the water after dinner. He is a gem.

So Jeff’s obviously planning the apartment tours, and that is fabulous for a number of reasons: 1. I don’t have to do it and 2. the realtors are all spamming his phone. It’s a win-win.

That leaves me with preparing for everything we need to buy for this new place. In doing that, I was like hey, this could be helpful for other people. It’s a Gdoc that I stole from my current roommate & best friend Nicolette who is also the master planner/organizer type. I reworked it a little bit, researched more of what you may need for a first apartment, and THERE YOU HAVE IT!

A robust spreadsheet was born.

You can download it and share it with your roommates, track costs, assign owners, all of that jazz.
