Short version:
I’m 100% Greek* (roots: Kefalonia & Rhodes), born & raised in NJ.
*Thanks to “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”, I will forever feel obligated to address that I do NOT spray Windex on open wounds
I studied abroad in Florence, Italy which definitely confirmed my deep love & appreciation for traveling
For a large chunk of my childhood, I took martial arts, and now work out @ Everlast
If I had to guess, I’d say I’m one of the youngest Hall & Oates fans. Some may even say Daryl copies my hairstyle
I love food. And a lot of food that 5-year-olds enjoy. Chicken nuggets, mac & cheese (shaped + boxed), pizza… the usual suspects
I love hand-written letters & firmly believe this art must become a norm again
Long version:
Let me begin this typical “About Me” page with a sincere thank you for stopping by. As I sit here, (I can’t believe I’ve become this person), with a vanilla & oak candle burning, lavender de-stress tea steaming & scraps of notes and a vision map beside me, I am filled with a lot of things.
I’m excited to share this space with you — whoever you may be — as I begin something so new, I’m nervous to take my thoughts from their safe haven and stick them right into the universe, but I am so thankful for my ambitious, entrepreneurial-spirited best friend that pushed me to give this a shot. It’s time to finally say yes.
So, congratulations for getting through the Hallmark-y BS. I’ve got some of that in me, but I’m also fairly sarcastic. I was an English major (after being undecided, then Graphic Design… what a ride that was…) with a concentration in Creative Writing, which I think people equate with me being a walking encyclopedia. Rest assured, I use dictionary.com, too.
But along the way, through a career in Human Resources and a curiosity & passion for employee engagement, I’ve tapped into an intrinsic desire to learn more about leadership, culture & life itself. I’m an old soul who likes to understand why things are done, how they happen, and enjoy developing myself both personally & professionally.
I imagine you may have a friend, family member, colleague, neighbor, or deli sandwich dude that you go to for advice, validation, or just to chat. Or someone you call before an interview to 50% help you prepare, 40% hype you up, and 10% to calm your nerves. I love to be that person to many, and hope that in time, you’ll trust me to be that someone to you too.
Join me in my personal and professional growth journey, as I learn from you, from books, webinars, the working world, you name it.
Thank you for reading, and if we haven’t met yet… a BIG hello. Hope to hear that you’re a loyal boxed mac & cheese lover.
XO,
Renee
