CEO’s Club 2019: epic, but virtual.
In case you didn’t get to the 2018 post (this is copied & pasted):
The idea was born on a flight from Newark, NJ to San Antonio, TX. I’m not sure what about the United pretzels inspired me to think so hard about retaining our Account Executives, but that’s where it all began.
At its core, this is what the programs seek to accomplish:
The President’s Club honors the local winner (highest performing AE YoY) from each market
The CEO’s Club honors the region winner, bringing the most high-performing sales performers together into one group
IN NORMAL TIMES, The CEO’s Club inductees were flown out to NYC for the experience of a lifetime, jam-packed with recognition & surprises.
IN VIRTUAL TIMES, The CEO’s Club inductees rolled with the punches. We had to cancel our in-person trip, but brought them an Awards ceremony via Zoom with some very special guests including Mario Lopez, Ryan Seacrest, Bobby Bones, & Angela Yee.
This program, while it was different in an at-home setting, still challenged me to 1. make it special & personal, and 2. provide a surprise & “A-List” element. With our company’s reach, I decided to adopt the “Zoom Crashers” format that a lot of celebrities did during COVID-19. This translated to securing various big-name hosts that would join at random times during the Zoom Awards Ceremony to give all of our inductees (and their families) surprise after surprise.
Probably their favorite work Zoom call of the year if I had to guess.
